The enticing guide price increases interest in the property (more competition on the auction day) and the 4 week period for marketing ensures your property gets maximum exposure. Thomas Oteng Seberane (Partner & Managing Director)
Thomas holds the role of Partner and Managing Director at Segodi Auctions & Advisory, where he spearheads the development and execution of business strategies to achieve both short and long-term goals. In his multifaceted responsibilities, Thomas provides valuable market insights, strategic advice, and oversees the company's business operations, financial performance, investments, and ventures. As the company's lead auctioneer, Thomas is highly regarded and sought after by prominent property investors and financial institutions, boasting an impressive track record of successfully selling properties on the auction platform. Over the past decade, he has been a significant contributor to reshaping the landscape of real estate auctions in Botswana, having auctioned hundreds of properties. |
Thomas is an alumnus of Monash University, graduating in 2006 with a BA in Communications and Marketing. His commitment to continuous learning is evident through his diverse qualifications, including a Diploma in Auctioneering, a diploma in Risk Management, a diploma in Project Management, and a diploma in Human Resources. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Science in Real Estate from the University College of Estate Management in Reading, United Kingdom. Thomas is an esteemed member of the Real Estate Institute of Botswana.
Having dedicated 14 years to SFB Auctions, a division of Stocker Fleetwood-Bird, Thomas showcased his prowess. Starting as a Consultant in July 2006, he climbed the ranks, becoming the Head of Department in September 2012. In July 2016, he earned the position of General Manager and, just three months later, was appointed Director. In 2020, Thomas co-founded Segodi Auctions & Advisory.
Renowned for his auctioneering skills, Thomas has achieved notable successes, representing a diverse array of corporate clients such as Debswana, First National Bank, BBS Limited, Stanbic Bank, First Capital Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Access Bank, ABSA, and CEDA. His expertise has led to the successful facilitation of auction sales of immovable properties, totaling over P250 million in value.

Bakang Palai (Partner & Executive Director)
Bakang serves as a partner and Executive Director at Segodi Auctions & Advisory, taking the lead in the company's growth strategy and managing key stakeholder relationships. With the distinction of being a registered professional auctioneer with the Real Estate Advisory Council, Bakang contributes over 15 years of expertise in Real Estate Developments and Investments. A University of Cape Town graduate with a BSc in Property Studies in 2007, Bakang's commitment to ongoing education is evident in his completion of a Business and Entrepreneurship Programme at the University of Nevada, USA, in 2015, as well as an Auctioneering diploma in 2016 from the SA College of Auctioneering. He has further enriched his skills through participation in seminars and workshops focused on corporate governance and leadership. Presently, he is in the process of completing an MSc in Luxury Management at the International University of Monaco (2023-24). |
Since taking the helm at Leru Property Group in 2015, Bakang has played a pivotal role in diverse projects, including the development of Sarona Shopping Centre, Mmopane Housing Developments, Epsilon Sarona Housing Development, Presidential Mews Development, Acacia Shopping Centre in Phakalane, Gaborone (2017), and Garden City Shopping Centre in Lusaka, Zambia (2016). He also guides the Leru team in Property Portfolio Management Advisory, providing Corporate Real Estate Services to the Private Sector.
Bakang's professional journey includes a notable tenure as the Head of Property Developments/Investments at Khumo Property Asset Management (Botswana), a subsidiary of Eris Property Group and BIFM, from May 2009 to 2015. His impressive portfolio of successful projects, valued at over +$200 million, includes Airport Junction Shopping Mall, Virgin Active, Turn-star Building, Refurbishment, Town Lodge Hotel, Rail Park Shopping Centre Phase 2 (Extension & Puma Filling Station), Game City Phase 2 Extension (Leasing and Tenant Coordination), FNB Head Office Botswana, and One-O-One Industrial (SA).

His contributions have been acknowledged, making him an Independent Grading Assessor for Botswana Tourism Organization from 2014 to 2019 and a Strategic Business Development Consultant/Corporate Brand Ambassador for PPC Botswana from 2017 to 2019. Notably, Bakang is a Mandela Washington Fellow (2015) under Business and Entrepreneurship, an initiative by President Barack Obama, reflecting his commitment to youth empowerment, poverty eradication, HIV/Aids, and climate change at global, national, and community levels for over 15 years.
